Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

The movie was made because Square knows that anything that has FFVII tagged onto it is going to get loads of cash, since FFVII has like the biggest fanbase. They are even going so far as to REMAKING the game with Advent Children like graphics. They won't let it die because they know it makes money. That's pretty much the end ;<
I thought the game was CRAP myself. Thus I didn't like the movie but I'll admit that the graphics kinda grabbed my attention.

the thing that i didn't understand about it was... the summoning materia was red, not [what was it? green? blue?]. *shrugs* it was a bit too "matrixy" for me. Infact, I hate the Matrix. All of them. But I think that the AC movie was just catering to the testosteron males. But yes I still have the movie personally. I'm just a die-hard FFVII fan like that.

And personally, I think the game was way way better than the movie.

Retarded 'plot', check. Crazy nice animation and CG, check. The only reason I watched it was to see how much shit squeenix can cram into my brain. Cause, seriously, I really liked FF7. T3T not for the bishies or the omg deep deep plot (can't even remember most of the plot, oh woe) but for the TURKS (and other characters). Yeahhh, it was nice seing them again, even though they were supposed to be blown up. wtf Rufus out of my face, didn't I kill you already. You too Sephiroth. (who I thought was just ugly in AC. ugck.)

Just give me back my Cloud who said shit like 'let's mosey, people', and less of the emo. Gawd.

And I haven't even seen the dub yet.

WHUT OMG SOMEONE NOT LIKE ADVENT CHILDREN IT IS BEST MOVIE EVAR.

I didn't hate it except for the fact that everyone fuckin humps it like that dude who gave it to you to watch. The action scenes were great, and the CG was yummy. It was certainly nostalgic to see the turks and all that, but that's the whole reason it was made: to prey on nostalgia. That's a reason to make an exceedly complicated, big budget movie in Japan apparently. But then again we're making Dukes of Hazzard and Charlie's Angels movies over here, so I'm one to talk. At least they make it of cool stuff in Japan c.c

I'm so glad I never watched the english dub, the subs were bad enough.

But yeah, it is just hollow fanservice, but I dig that. It's one of those things that makes you want to stand on top of a mountain and cry: "Give me epilepsy or give me death! Give me...ADBENT JILDRENU!"

Anyone who tries to pass off the fact that the plot is too deep to understand if you haven't played the game is telling pork pies. It's just an excuse to see Cloud punch people in the face and maybe cry a little, for Square to sell some more models and for Nobuo Uematsu to spin some hot shit.

I enjoyed it immensely.
