It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Okay I posted it like a week ago, so it's sort of old hat, but I figure if any of you wanted to take a gander that don't have an LJ, NOW'S THE TIME.

I feel like drawing again! I've been reading a lot of Kate Beaton comics [link] , and perusing ol Liverjournal to enjoy the art of Britt Wilson (LJ: [link] ), and then there's Amanda Kadatz ~weremagnus and all her goddamn nice concept and character work as of late (I'll say, I wasn't as keen when I went through the same ACAD program as her, I SAID IT), and finally Laura Bifano ~Biffno recently showed up in town to again taunt me in person with her goddamn skills, I'll make Drink & Draw this week, promise!! That was some fine ladies, but of course there are the bros such as Brennan Kelly [link] and Micheal Deforge [link] , I'm now just finding it funny the two guys' art that I'm into at the moment are very surreal at times. WELL THEN. Anyways these are the fools at the moment that I'm blaming for being sort of muses and making me want to draw. Maybe I'll draw something other than floating heads?!

I think I need to start rocking the blogspot again. PHOOEY ONLY POSTING "NICE" WORK, I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE ANYWAYS.

I also have a Tumblr, but I haven't really tried to figure out what the hell Tumblr is or how it works yet. One day. Maybe.

guhh, late reply- it has been midterms for me so I haven't gone online at all except to check email, so I didn't see this, I am sorry! But hjjhdf aaa man, this is really neat, hahaha, I love the scales, and the way the body kind of fades off into the background... also, as a typography nut, your ability to draw really interesting text forms makes me giddy. Aaa, thank you so much, this is so fun

And ffff, if you ever get around to scanning those other sketches (Disco mentioned he saw your sketchbook and they looked badass, so it got me all psyched, haha), just toss 'em my way, but if not, it's no biggie, just keep on being awesome, cuz your personal work is getting even more insanely awesome than it's ever been, a feat considering how top-of-your-game you've always been. AH I saw one of the sketches I did for you, god know's how long ago, but I didn't scan it because it looked sub par for you (a devil/spaceman head I quit halfway). I don't know why, but just seeing all the nice art you get, I don't want to be the jackass that hands you crap (then again that is probably better than NOTHIN, d'oh).
